ACCO Technical Advisor, Stephen Andersen, Co-Authors Paper Reducing Abrupt Climate Change Risk using the Montreal Protocol and Other Regulatory Actions to Complement Cuts in CO2 emissions
ACCO technical advisor, Stephen O. Andersen, recently combined forces with Mario Molina, Durwood Zaelke, K. Madhava Sarma, Veerabhadran Ramanathan and Donald Kaniaru to co-author "Reducing Abrupt Climate Change Risk Using the Montreal Protocol and Other Regulatory Actions to Complement Cuts in CO2 Emissions." The paper speaks to tipping points for abrupt climate change and current climate policy, then identifies available fast action mitigation strategies, including:
- Strengthening the Montreal Protocol;
- Reducing Emissions of BC (soot);
- Reducing Tropospheric Ozone; and
- Expanding Sinks through Biosequestration.
